Larry the Lawyer

Patently experienced...
I've been having fun practicing patent law for over 33 years, helping my clients secure valuable protection for their inventions in the US and beyond.
I am a partner at the Chicago intellectual-property firm MBHB. My practice is focused on communications and software technology, ranging from cellular wireless systems to automatic content recognition to the latest machine-learning advances. I take pride in drafting technically detailed and engaging patent applications. And I have extensive experience arguing appeals in oral hearings before the USPTO's Patent Trial and Appeal Board. I also serve as co-chair of the firm's telecom practice group, and as co-overseer of our IT department.
I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Michigan (1987), and a J.D from University of Illinois College of Law (1991).
